Staff team

We believe wholeheartedly in Every Member Ministering, and many of our regular worshippers are involved in ministry and service in the church, community, and further afield.

Rector: Rev’d Ian Birkinshaw

Ian sees his main role as being to help the church be the church. He is married to Adele, and has two adult children. Prior to ordination Ian taught English/Drama in secondary schools, and currently serves as chaplain to Riding Lights Theatre Company. 

Associate Minister: Rev'd Philip Carman

Phil joined us in October 2010. He is married to Rebecca, and has two daughters, Anwen and Lucy. He has particular responsibility for mission and evangelism, and for our ministry to families. Phil previously served as curate at St Aidan's and St Stephen's, Acomb.

Youth and Children’s Leader: coming soon!

We are delighted that James Simister will be joining us as our new Youth and Children's Leader after February half-term. James is currently serving as head of Youth and Children's work at St Michael le Belfrey, York.

Parish Administrator: Jenni Lucas

Jenni has responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Parish Office, which is based at St Andrew's Church. She is employed for 16 hours per week (Monday and Friday), but has the support of a fantastic team of volunteers who provide cover when she's not in the office. 

Parish Assistants: Isabella Mooney and Sarah Richards

Isabella and Sarah support the work of All Saints and St Andrew's on a half-time voluntary basis, mainly helping with worship services, youth and children's clubs, and pastoral visiting.
